CALIFORNIA IN-STATE TUITION TOOL  AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR RESULTS    AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR RESULTS Once you’ve completed the California In-State Tuition Tool, you will receive an email with a detailed sheet outlining the attendance and degree requirements you have already met or still need to complete in order to qualify for California in-state tuition. You can use the printout to consult with your school counselor or Dream Resource Center (if applicable) on how you can fulfill the SB68 requirements.

1. Submitting the SB 68 Nonresident Tuition Exemption Affidavit You need to submit an AB540/SB68 Affidavit and a copy of your official transcripts for each school you applied, in order to be classified as AB 540/SB 68 student at your school and be exempt from paying nonresident tuition. The CA public college or university will ultimately approve this. See ​Submitting the AB540/SB68 Affidavit​ for further instructions.

2. Applying for Financial Aid If you are eligible for SB68, you may also qualify for state-based financial aid through CA Dream Act or FAFSA. See ​Determining the Right Financial Aid Application​ flyer for more information.

3. Ordering Your Academic Records Contact your school for official transcripts. If you attended an Adult School, ask for attendance records. The transcript will show the units completed and proof of degree or minimum transfer requirements, if applicable. The attendance records will include classroom hours completed and degree completed, if applicable. Departments to Contact: ● High School: Main Office or School District Office ● Adult School: Main Office or School District Office ● CCC: Admissions & Records Office ● CSU: Registrar’s Office ● UC: Registrar’s Office You may get your official transcripts and/or attendance records one of the following ways: ● Online: Academic records may be ordered online via your student portal or your institution’s website. ● In-Person: You may also get your academic in person through your school Some institutions may charge a fee for your official transcripts and/or attendance records. You may also have to complete a Transcript Request Form or offer proof of identification (like a student ID or state driver’s license) when requesting your records. Allow for 5-10 business days (or longer for older records) to receive your transcripts. Check your school website for more information.
