ACCOUNTING QUIZ BOWL IRR 1.0 RATIONALE The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Cavite Chapter is committed to the professional development of future Certified Public Accountants in our province. The PICPA-Cavite Chapter aims to support this undertaking by sponsoring the conduct of an annual Accounting Quiz Bee to be participated in by various schools in Cavite. IRR 2.0 OBJECTIVES By the end of each Accounting Quiz Bee activity, we aim to achieve the following objectives: 1) To promote academic excellence among participants that will help them to further enrich their knowledge in the field of accounting; 2) To showcase their knowledge and technical ability of the participants in terms of all accounting concepts and principles; 3) To improve the level of awareness among the students on the importance of developing their competence in the field of accounting; 4) To provide a venue for motivating students to aspire for the achievement of their own goals leading to a much higher goals in their chosen profession; and 5) To be able to produce champion who will represent Cavite province in the Regional Quiz Bee. IRR 3.0 SCOPE AND QUALIFICATIONS 1. The contest is open to all schools in Cavite offering Bachelor of Science in Accountancy course. 2. Each participating school shall send a maximum of three (3) contestants for each Level (Level I and Level II). 3. Only students from third year and below are qualified for the Level 1 category. 4. Participants should be currently enrolled for the Academic Year 2017 - 2018. IRR 4.0 REQUIREMENTS 1. Participants must comply with the following requirements: a. A duly accomplished registration/confirmation form; (Master list of all participants) b. A scanned copy of the Certificate of Registration or a letter from his respective school certifying that he is currently enrolled in their school's current semester or term; c. A scanned copy of the school ID for the current semester; and d. A waiver signed by the contestant and his/her parent or guardian.

2. All requirements must be zipped into one file (.zip or .rar) and shall be sent to [email protected] on or before January 5, 2018. 3. The participant’s valid school identification card shall be presented upon registration. IRR 5.0 CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS 1. The contestants are advised to be at the designated place at least 30 minutes before the time schedule. 2. Walk-in contestants shall NOT be allowed to participate in the event 3. Switching or change of name of participants shall be allowed only if notified within one (1) day prior to the date of contest proper. 4. Categories and its coverage are as follows: Level Coverage  Fundamentals of Accounting Level I  Financial Accounting and Reporting  Financial Accounting and Reporting  Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting Level II  Management Advisory Services  Auditing  Taxation  Regulatory Framework for Business Transaction 5. Format, No. of questions, corresponding points and time allotment are as follows:

6. Contestants shall be allowed to use ordinary calculators only. NO programmable calculator, financial calculator or cell phone calculator shall be allowed. 7. A timer – bell shall be rang as soon as time allotment is finished and contestants are required to raise their answer boards as soon as the bell rings. 8. Contestants may start computing for the answers to questions only after the Quiz Master says the word “go”.

9. Answers provided by the quiz master are final and non-appealable. Except for instances where questions are vague same should immediately be raised up by participants. In the event that the questions cannot be understood by majority of participants, the question shall immediately be replaced at the decision of the arbiters present. 10. The three (3) contestants with the highest scores shall be declared first, second and third respectively. In case of tie, clincher questions shall be asked. Three (3) clincher questions shall be asked and whoever gets the correct answer for two (2) clincher question wins.

IRR 6.0 AWARDS AND RECOGNITION 1. Awards and prizes a. Certificate of Participation shall be given to all contest participants b. Trophies and Certificate of Recognition shall be awarded to the three (3) winners c. Cash prizes shall be given to the winners of each level as follows:

First and second placers shall automatically represent the Cavite Chapter to the Regional Quiz Bee.
