The Simple Present Tense Utilizamos o Present Simple para espressar ideias que são verdades universais ou fatos; para falar de atividades da nossa rotina. The earth goes around the sun. I get up at 8 o’clock. During the week I have swimming practice on Mondays. I like chocolate.

Affirmative Form I play soccer with my peers. We like watching Netflix every weekend. You work in an important company. He reads the Guardian every morning. She likes studying foreign languages. It rains a lot in winter They live in my street.

Spelling – Verbs in 3rd person singular - Affirmative • -es after -s/-sh/-ch/x/z/h/o • pass -> passes finish -> finishes watch -> watches go -> goes • -y -> -ies (after consonant) • study -> studies try -> tries

Interrogative Form Do/ Does + subject + base form Do you see him on Wednesdays? Yes, I do (see him on Wednesdays). No, I don’t (see him on Wednesdays).
